Heros Series
Late Nights In Jazz Clubs
Inspired by the stories of Charlie Parker, Miles Davis and other be-bop jazz musicians playing in dark, smoky clubs in downtown 1950's New York City.
More importantly, it's the stories of the Beat Poets of that time that struck me most — Allen Ginsberg, Jack Kerouac, and, especially, Lawerence Ferlinghetti. Ferlinghetti is the primary influence on my love of poetry and literature, starting with the book of poetry my father gave me in the 1980's, A Coney Island of the Mind. From there, I was ravenous, a literature and poetry major in college, a poet at heart with a City Lights Publishers tattoo on my shoulder.

Mugwump
This abstract composition, dedicated to William S. Burroughs, channels the unsettling atmosphere of his landmark novel Naked Lunch. With layered textures, industrial tones, and fluid forms, the work evokes both decay and transformation—mirroring Burroughs’ raw, hallucinatory explorations of control, addiction, and freedom. The piece is both homage and reinterpretation, capturing the tension between beauty and chaos at the core of his writing.

In-Studio
Earlier in my career I had the opportunity to work out of an incredible studio in downtown Seattle, WA where I was fairly prolific in my output. At this time I started experimenting more with multimedia and encaustics, especially inspired by the artist Matthew Barney. These pieces are representative of the oils and encaustics I did at the time. More to to come from the archives.

Geolocated Series
The Geolocated series explores the intersection of professional ambition, personal sacrifice, and human vulnerability. Rendered in a direct, first-person perspective—looking down at one’s own feet—these paintings embody both literal travel and metaphorical descent. Stylistically, the works use expressive brushstrokes and abstracted color fields to suggest memory, fatigue, and dislocation, rather than precise realism. The intent is to document a lived experience of relentless corporate travel and its lasting consequences, while also reclaiming those moments as opportunities for reflection, honesty, and healing through art.
